Are you looking for a way to get involved with Habitat Omaha but construction isn’t your thing? Or maybe you’re enthusiastic about helping the environment and want a new way to get involved with the green movement. Either way, volunteering at Omaha’s Habitat ReStore is just the thing for you. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. No experience or special skills are required – we’ll provide any training you may need for your volunteer day. You can volunteer once or come in regularly. Being a regular has its advantages – you’ll find your niche at the store and get to know staff and other volunteers!
Habitat ReStore volunteers play a variety of roles in our stores. As a volunteer you may:
- Help with merchandising
- Assist customers
- Work with staff to process donations
- Use your creativity to repurpose or restore items
- Complete exterior work on grounds
Each of these roles is vital to the success of Habitat ReStore, helping build more Habitat homes in our area. As a volunteer, your time makes a big difference to the families who partner with Habitat Omaha. You may even get the chance to volunteer alongside a future homeowner as they work toward their goal of homeownership.
Omaha Habitat Restores are happy to partner with and host individuals on Workers Compensation. Utilizing creative planning, we are able to accommodate individuals with physical restrictions and work within the limitations of each individual.
